The Hearing Voices Network UK celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Hearing Voices Self Help Groups, with a conference on Friday 9th September 2016 in Sheffield.
The conference was officially opened by the founder of the world hearing voices movement, Professor Marius Romme.
Professor Romme paid special tribute to the work of Peter Bullimore, who established the group in Sheffield 20 years ago, and who is still actively involved in it’s ongoing operation and development.
Professor Romme presented Peter with a framed copy of the “Hearing Voices Declaration”, which was established and launched at the world hearing voices congress in 2013 in Melbourne, Australia.
The longevity of the Sheffield HV Group, bears testimony to the success and value of hearing voices support groups.
There are approximately 200 hearing voices like this one throughout the UK. Groups are evident in 26 countries across 5 continents.
